Charlotte Keniston


Charlotte Keniston is an activist and documentary photographer who resides in Baltimore, MD. She graduated in 2007 with a degree in Visual Art and Intercultural Studies from Houghton College. Her skills include ceramics, textile arts, sculpture, photography, and video. She has worked in many countries, including the UK, Tanzania, Thailand, and a two-year stint with the Peace Corps in Guatemala, where she learned the traditional art of back-strap weaving.

She has worked as a teacher in several community arts programs and is passionate about accessible arts education for under-served populations. Her most recent photographic work, deals with the interaction of traditional and Western cultures. She has exhibited in her native New Hampshire, and also in New York at the Ortlip Gallery. She is currently pursuing an MFA at University of Maryland Baltimore County and working on collaborative documentary projects dealing with social issues.
