Eric Smallwood

Eric Smallwood is a digital film maker utilizing animation and video to produce time-based and installation works. Currently his work explores a consistent, internal dialogue in an attempt to reconcile consciousness and its relation to an external reality. This reconciliation often manifests itself by amplifying mundane personal thoughts about objects, situations or relationships in the hopes of communicating with the viewer. Graduating from UMBC in 2003 with a digital arts degree, Eric now works as the Technical Director for the Imaging Research Center producing animated, video, composited and real-time media. His work at the IRC has been viewed at The Maryland Film Festival, The Walters Art Museum, The Baltimore Museum of Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Maryland Public Television (PBS), The Economist Magazine, The Houston International Film Festival, the Sante Fe Film Festival and printed in Washington Post Magazine.
