Film/Video alumni Nick Prevas's 10-minute film,
Rabbit Hole, will be shown at the Baltimore Museum of Art's A Cinematic Celebration of Edgar Allan Poe. Over a dozen films will be shown, all created by local filmmakers who were invited to make a short film about Poe, in cooperation with Baltimore's 48 Hour Film Project.
Nick's film is inspired equally by Poe's
The Raven and Lewis Carroll's
Alice In Wonderland.
I've always been a really big fan of his poems and stories - I'd say he's a really big inspiration in everything I do, Prevas says of Poe, who began his literary career while living in Baltimore and died here in 1849.
This film is how I dissected what that poem really means.
A Cinematic Celebration of Edgar Allan Poe takes place at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4 and Dec. 11. The event is free. Call 443-573-1700 or go to artbma.org
