Lisa Moren Exhibits in NYC
Art from Detritus: Recycling with Imagination
Saturday, November 20th, 2010 // 4 - 7 PM
530 West 25th St., NY, NY

In an upcoming Chelsea exhibit in New York, Lisa Moren will be exhibiting Marbleized Paper from the Gulf, a project that upcycles oil spilled from the Deep Water Horizon rig into the fine art of marbleized paper. This exhibit will include her essay Gluppity Glupp and her postcard rack of over 100 paintings including Chesapeake Bay Water Watercolors where she created pigments and paintings out of our local Baltimore waterways.

Curator Vernita Nemec:
Not only do these artists recycle, but they are also upcycling (a process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or a higher environmental value) by using trash as their medium of choice for their artmaking.
