Station North Works: A Full Service Garage
Thursday, July 17th, 2008 // 6 - 8 PM
1714 North Charles Street (parking garage)
Ten artists will serve Artscape attendees during the festival while
transforming the parking garage across from the Charles Theater into an
environment of inquiry. For example, look to buy fake food in the nearby
food court, or notice signs on lamp posts that ask burning questions such
as So, what is it like being you?
; a phone number will let you call
your answers in. Anywhere in the festival you might also take a survey from
someone wearing a Services United t-shirt and receive a free service such as a pat on the back, or if you prefer you may be walked to the nearest water station or toilet.
Other projects include highlighting utility works in the garage, planting a tree, making a doll or having an article of clothing washed and hung to dry. Receive a free service, or just celebrate labor! Station North Works: A Full Service Garage is organized by faculty and MFA graduate students of the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, UMBC.
