Starting in the Fall '09 semester, students majoring in Visual Arts will have the option of declaring a newly-approved Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in one of four concentrations: Animation/Interactive Media (AIM), Film/Video, Print Media, and Photography. The BFA degree requires 72 credits of visual arts course work; the BA degree requires 60.

Visual arts majors should consult their advisors about how the switch to the BFA would affect their remaining course requirements and time to graduation. Students who decide to declare the new BFA degree may contact Melanie Berry, at, in order to submit the appropriate paperwork.

The Department of Visual Arts is currently completing a BFA Program Proposal in Design, with plans for implementation in the near future.
