Christian Valiente
Program Manager
Visual Arts

410-455-2959 FA 220

Valiente is a emerging visual artist, whose approach to his work is to challenge and stimulate his visual and time-based sensibilities. His areas of expertise include sound design, 3D animation, pre and post-production in HD video and film. As president of Filmmakers Anonymous at UMBC, he co-created Light-Struck, a student showcase of undergraduate film/video and animation. His current work draws on his interest in natural phenomena, themes of abstraction and ambiguity, as well as relationships between physics and art.

Valiente's work was in an exhibition at Baltimore's School 33 gallery called Into the Light/Into the Dark. An accomplished musician, he has toured and recorded with two influential Baltimore bands, Fidel and Jimmie's Chicken Shack.

Valiente directs the Visual Arts Production Center at UMBC. He received his M.F.A. in Imaging and Digital Arts from UMBC.
