Students should apply for graduation at the UMBC Advisement Center during their graduating semester. The deadline for May graduation is February 15, for August graduation, June 15 and for December graduation, September 15. Submission of the graduation application generates a Graduation Review Form, which is evaluated by the Academic Advising Center and the Visual Arts Department. The Visual Arts Department determines if requirements for the major are satisfied. The Advising Center determines if University Requirements (GEPs) are met. For this reason, it is important that in addition to the on-going departmental advising a student receives, careful attention be paid to the Advisement Center’s on-line review which students can access anytime via My UMBC.
